We regularly conduct public workshops and customized client capacity building training & workshops in Appreciative Inquiry (AI) – an increasingly popular strength-based approach to change. Scheduled workshop dates are listed in the column to the right.
Our Appreciative Inquiry (AI) workshop series builds upon the foundations and philosophy of AI and incorporates our focus on how to facilitate “Harnessing the Energy for Change” through creating a positive, energizing organizational and community climate. The workshops focus on self, others and system.
To learn more about this approach, we invite you to read our article Harnessing Human Energy to Renew Positive Organizational Climate. The article explores the parallel experience that the urgency of climate change presents in the physical earth environment, and the urgent need for climate change personally, with others and in our organizations and communities – the human world environment. The article was inspired by the movie Chasing Ice. (View two minute trailer)

AI Practitioner Clinic
We describe this one-day workshop as a “clinic” to suggest both a deepening of learning around participant identified topics and because the agenda is built around participant cases questions – rather than a predefined set of concepts, such as are presented in a more traditional workshop setting. A key element of this workshop is the opportunity to provide and receive consultation on each others cases in progress. Pre-requisite: strong AI foundation and some application experience.
Customized Appreciative Inquiry Workshops for Clients
We are often asked to design and conduct AI workshops to help clients build capacity for the Appreciative Inquiry approach in their organizations. Please contact us to discuss your needs.
Appreciative Inquiry Presentations and Keynotes
We are called upon regularly to design and facilitate breakout sessions and provide keynote presentations on the topic of Appreciative Inquiry at conferences and association learning events.
STRATEGIC IMPACT: Learning to SOAR™
Join us in this two-day workshop on the application of SOAR (Strengths, Opportunities, Aspirations, Results) in strategic planning. This workshop will appeal to AI practitioners as well as anyone involved in the process of strategic planning in their organization.
This two-day workshop is an experiential application of Appreciative Inquiry to coaching and is targeted specifically to coaching practitioners who have a desire to deepen their coaching practice by incorporating AI principles.
Engaging Employees through Appreciative Inquiry
Much has been written in recent years about the “lack of employee engagement”. Organizations study and publish reports that tell us that “employees are disengaged” and that the resulting loss of productivity is costing organizations millions of dollars annually. This one-day workshop looks at this increasingly high priority issue through the lens of Appreciative Inquiry. The workshop goes much beyond looking at the value of engaging employees – it focuses on a proven approach to engagement that leading organizations are using to engage their people in a meaningful way.
